The Emerald Cottageon hidden lane
Our Story

A little cottage on hidden lane

We built The Emerald Cottage for the couples who always knew they wanted something smaller — and somehow more meaningful for it.

How it began

It started with a stretch of quiet woods.

A few acres off a gravel lane in the Brainerd Lakes area, a stand of birch and pine, and a little lake that goes glassy at golden hour. When we found it, we knew it wasn't meant for a ballroom or a crowd of three hundred.

It was meant for something gentler — a place where a couple could get married the way they actually wanted to, surrounded by only their favorite people.

So we built a timber cottage among the trees, cleared a ceremony space at the water's edge, and started saying yes to the couples who wanted less noise and more meaning.

What we believe

A few things we hold to.

01

Intimate by nature

We cap every celebration so the room always feels full of the people you love, and no one else.

02

Quietly beautiful

Raw timber, candlelight, and the lake do most of the decorating. We keep everything else out of the way.

03

Unhurried always

One wedding a day means the clock belongs to you, from morning coffee to the last dance.

Where to find us

Tucked into the Brainerd Lakes.

We're a short drive from Brainerd and Nisswa, and about two and a half hours north of the Twin Cities — far enough to feel like a retreat, close enough to make a weekend of it.

The exact address is shared with couples who book a visit, so we can keep hidden lane exactly that. Come see it, and we think you'll understand why.
